Wheel offset calculator

Compare your current wheel with the one you want. See how far it pokes out, how much closer it gets to the suspension, and what that looks like.

How it works

A wheel sits half its width on each side of its centerline. Offset moves that centerline away from the mounting face. So when you change wheels, the outer edge moves by half the width change minus the offset change, and the inner edge moves by half the width change plus the offset change. Width is converted from inches to millimeters (1 inch = 25.4 mm).

Positive numbers mean the edge moves toward the fender (outer) or toward the suspension (inner). Tires, spacers and camber change the final fitment too.

Questions

What is wheel offset?

Offset is the distance in millimeters between the wheel’s mounting face and its centerline. A higher offset pulls the wheel into the car; a lower or negative offset pushes it out toward the fender.

Does a wider wheel always stick out more?

Not always. A wider wheel grows by half its extra width on each side. If the offset goes up by the same amount, the outer edge stays where it was and all the extra width goes toward the suspension.

Does this tell me if the wheel will fit?

It tells you how far the wheel moves compared with your current one. Whether that fits depends on your car: measure your current fender and suspension clearance before you order.
